Racing will take place in Swansea Bay

 

NOTICE OF RACE

 

1.         RULES

The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.

2.         ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

The regatta is open to all keel boats

 

            Required fees are as follows:

Class 1

£20 per boat

Class 2

£20 per boat

 

 

 

 

 

 

3.         SCHEDULE

Registration: Please register to race on

            Sat 31st March between 10am  To 1pm on Foxtrot

3.2       The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race is 10.55am on 1st April

4.         SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

            The sailing instructions will be available after 24th March on Club notice board

5.         THE COURSES

(a)        The courses to be sailed will be as follows: 1st Race of the day will be a windward leeward course. The second race of the day will be a race around laid marks and navigational marks in Swansea Bay.

 

(b)        Courses will be announced over VHF channel 37 half an hour before the start of the race.

6.         SCORING

 Races will be scored using the standard low point scoring system

            4 races are required to be completed to constitute a series.

(a)     When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.

            (b)     When from 6 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

           

7.         PRIZES

            Prizes will be given as follows: Class 1- 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

                                                               Class 2 – 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

The prize giving will take place on C pontoon following the final race.

 

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

            Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

INSURANCE

            Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of £2 million.
